Print is Dead! Long Live Print! SUPERSWEET Digital in association with Beyond Retro is running PROJECT: RECYCLE – a design competition challenging aspiring artists and fashion designers to produce divine works of art and fashion out of SUPERSWEET’s 1,000+ back issues! 5 winners in each category will be exhibited at Beyond Retro’s Cheshire Street store to appear in their luminously successful East End Lights series, and winners can also benefit from a month’s worth of exposure on SUPERSWEET’s digital art gallery.
To help entrants don their DIY design heads, they’ll be holding creative workshops at a London venue throughout weekends in January, where you’ll be able to create using magazines and Beyond Retro’s heavenly discards. Try your hand at good old fashion collaging, sculpting and clever paper sewing to see if you can craft a winning piece.
Places are limited! If you want to get involved, sign-up here. Details of the venue will be released once you’re all signed up. Basic materials will be provided (glue/sellotape/needles/white thread), including tea, cake and music! If you need to use sewing machines or other materials for your piece, then you must bring these yourself.
SUPERSWEET is also offering to photograph finished pieces at the session’s end and upload them onto their digital magazine for you.
